In order that the known sport of "bungee-jumping" from a great height using rubber ropes need not to be restricted to valley bridges or the like, the invention discloses a jumping device which can be set up virtually anywhere. It comprises a boom (7) secured by guy cables (3, 5) and a ground anchor (1) on which a basket (9) can travel when driven by means of a motor winch (11) and a traction rope (15) in the manner of an oblique lift. The jumper climbs into the basket at ground level (E) and is taken up to a jumping region from which the jumper (S), who is attached by a foot loop to one end of a rubber rope (17), jumps down. After oscillation has stopped, the basket (9) is slowly lowered until the jumper contacts the ground and can release the foot loops. |
