<p>PURPOSE:To offer the liquid crystal printer which reduces defects of a recording image even when a liquid crystal panel having defective picture elements is used. CONSTITUTION:An LCD panel 16 moves stepwise in two dimensions relatively to a photosensitive material 28 in 1.5P units about the picture element pitch P of recording on the photosensitive material under the control of an LCD panel moving means 24 and a control means 26. One picture element of the photosensitive material 28 shown in a rectangular area is divided into four parts, which are exposed to light transmitted through the respective picture elements of the LCD panel 16. The left upper part is recorded by the corresponding picture element of the LCD panel 16 and the right upper part is recorded by the adjacent picture element on the left side of the picture element of the LCD panel 16. Further, the right lower part is recorded by the adjacent picture element on the left upper side of the picture element of the LCD panel 16 and the left lower part is recorded by the adjacent picture element on the left upper side of the picture element of the LCD panel 16. Therefore, even if any picture element of the LCD panel 16 is defective, the picture elements recorded on the photosensitive material 28 are interpolated with other picture elements of the LCD panel 16 to eliminate the probability of a defective picture element.</p> |
