Partial amino acid sequences are indicated for a rhamnogalacturonase (RGase) obtainable by means of Aspergillus aculeatus, Aspergillus japonicus and Irpex lacteus. Also, a corresponding recombinant DNA sequence, a corresponding vector and a corresponding transformed host is indicated. The RGase produced by means of a transformed host can be used as an agent for degradation or modification of plant cell walls.
