<p>Collagen bead prepared from an aqueous solution of solubilized collagen and an aqueous solution of tannin. A collagen bead having uniform grain diameters and a bilayer structure wherein the aqueous collagen solution is held inside and the surface of the outer layer is solidified or a collagen bead uniformly solidified as a whole can be produced by suitably controlling the concentration of each of the collagen solution and the tannin solution and the residence time of collagen beads in the tannin solution. The obtained bead is free from an organic solvent and heavy metals, both being harmful to the human body, and can be utilized as a food or a carrier for immobilizing physiologically active substances.</p> |
