The exhaust gas feedback system uses a regulating valve (26) inserted in the exhaust gas feedback channel (24), controlled via regulator (50), receiving signals representing the detected engine revs and the position of the throttle lever. The regulator (50) calculates the required exhaust gas feedback ratio using a table of values addressed by the motor revs and the throttle lever position. The charging pressure provided by a turbocharger compressor is detected via a further sensor (58), to allow correction of the exhaust gas feedback ratio. ADVANTAGE - Improved engine efficiency and reduced exhaust emission levels.
