A vehicle sidelight and direction indicator unit (1) has a housing (2) and transparent outer cover (7) in which the light sources (4, 5) are provided with a stepped reflector (6) which also functions as a radiant surface (10) for returning the light (11) from another vehicle in approximately the reverse direction as an indication of presence. Light rays (12) from the sidelight source (4) and the flashing indicator (5) are reflected forwards and sideways by the same combined reflector/radiant surface (6, 10) over a wide angle. USE/ADVANTAGE - Fast-effective assembly occupying reduced space and providing three independent and necessary signalling functions.
