The bullet-proof plate material has a multi-section ceramic or metallic front layer, joined by a layer of elastic bonding agent to a multilayer laminate. The layers of the latter are likewise joined together by an elastic bonding agent. The first laminate layer below the front one is a hard and non-elastic supporting one. One or more following layers form arresting ones softer than the first. There can be a further supporting and arresting layer under the first one, and which can be of aramid, while the first lamonate layer can be of glass fibre-reinforced plastic with a wt. of 2.1 to 2.2 g per cu.cm. The front layer can be of hexagonal plates of aluminium oxide, silicon carbide or nitride, or borium carbide or nitride, while a thin adhesive sheet of rubber or acrylic glue can be used as the bonding agent.
