An inverted filter centrifuge has a flexible, expandable partition (21, 22), e.g. in the form of a bellows (22) or concertina diaphragm (21), between the closed front wall (7) of a centrifugal drum (6) and a movable base member (12) movable in relation thereto. This partition provides a seal between a shifting shaft bearing the base member (12) and the interior of the centrifugal drum (6) containing the suspension and prevents any exchange of material between the operating chamber of the centrifugal drum and the machine frame side of the inverted filter centrifuge which could adversely affect sterilisation. |
