The saw machine (1) has a lifting device and a guide device (14,15), for a raisable sawing support (3), which has a saw blade. The lifting device (14) is esp. formed as a working cylinder (4,5). The guide device (15) has an associated clamp device (22,23). This fixes the sawing support in a raised position. The clamp device is formed as a motor, acting on the guide device, and is located at right angles to it. The piston rod engages on the guide device. The motor may be formed as a differential cylinder. USE/ADVANTAGE - Sawing machine still gives precise cuts after long machining time.
