<p>A hologram shown in the figure, wherein a photopolymer in a matrix polymer produces interference fringes (10), and a photopolymer or thermal polymer (20) having a refractive index different from that of the photopolymer exists between the fringes, thereby forming a diffraction grating. A recording medium consisting of a matrix polymer, a photopolymerizable compound and a photopolymerization initiator is exposed to an interference pattern of light, and is then dipped into a developing solution containing a polymer of the photo-polymerizable compound and a photo- or thermally-polymerizable compound having a different refractive index after curing from that of the polymer of the photo-polymerizable compound. The recording medium is then cured by heat or light. In this way, non-uniformity of diffraction efficiency and reproduction wavelength and whitening can be prevented, the reproduction wavelength can be controlled, and a hologram having high diffraction efficiency and high brightness can be obtained.</p> |
