摘要	Novel antifungal antibiotic, ergokonin C has the chemical name C-13-carboxy-3-O(2'-amino-2'-methylpropionylcarboxy) steriol and is of formula (I). USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is an ergokonin-type antifungal and antibiotic cpd. In tests (I) has a minimal growth inhibiting effect of 0.3, 0.05 and 10 microg (I)/diffusion zone for candida befir, Kluyveromyces marxianus and Bacillus subtilis respectively. (I) are also intermediate in the prepn. of steroid cpds.
