The present invention relates generally to an immunocastration vaccine and to recombinant polypeptides useful for same. More particularly, the present invention is directed to a vaccine composition comprising a recombinant polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence corresponding to luteinizing hormone releasing hormone or an analogue thereof, one or more T-cell epitopes and a purification site. The present invention further contemplates a method for the immunological castration of animals.
