PURPOSE:To provide a controller for electric vehicle suitable for cargo transporter such as a battery forklift wherein safety is ensured against deficiency of brake force at the time of descending a slope. CONSTITUTION:The controller for electric vehicle comprises a microcomputor 1, a current detector 2, a regenerative contactor 3, a drive contactor 9, a reverse contactor 10 and a travel chopper 4 wherein powering, plugging brake and regenerative brake are performed. Consequently, the fact that a vehicle is descending a slope can be detected without requiring a motor rotation sensor and the problem of deficient brake force can be solved by making a switch to regenerative brake resulting in safe and smooth descending of slope. |
