Operating device for brake bands on brake drums - has swivel tension part with two spaced fixing points for band ends

The tension part (38) swivels in one plane and the two fixing points are spaced out in the same plane. Each end (18, 20) of the brake band extends like a fork and the fork ends support sleeves (30, 34) whose centre line lies in the band plane. The tension part which has a recess lying flush with the sleeves engages partially between the fork ends. The sleeves and recess hold a bolt through which the belt end is fixed for swivel movement on the tension part. The bolt pref. projects at least on one side over the narrow side of the band end. USE - The brake band can be tightened or loosened by swivelling the tension part in one plane.
