<p>The device is comprised of means (20) for acquiring an ordered set of gross data signals, each of which representing the intensity of a wave beam such as X rays, which comes out of the body along an axis called 'acquisition line', which axis is designated by at least two parameters. The gross data define as a function of said axis parameters an 'image of projections' of the radiation in a 'space of projections', of which each point represents a straight line in the real space. There are also provided means (22) for processing said gross data signals. Said processing means (22) are comprised of means for the differential analysis of the gross data signals relatively to their axis parameters in order to determine critical points where a jump of intensity of the sensed signal occurs, so that each of said points corresponds to an acquisition line tangent to an internal or external boundary of the examined body, whereas the axis parameters of critical points represent as a whole the position of at least one portion of said boundaries of the body.</p> |
