<p>PURPOSE:To increase the oxidation velocity of an oxidizable agent which is composed of metallic powder, a halide and water and is used in body warmers or as a preservative for foods. CONSTITUTION:As the halide, there may be used a hydrohalogenic acid salt of a weakly basic amine with a pKa of 6 or less, for example, the hydrochloride, hydrobromide, hydiodide, etc., of melamine or a derivative thereof. Use of such a specific halide accelerates the oxidation velocity of the metallic powder, resulting in an improvement in the capacity of the oxidizable agent.</p> |
