[Also in Group XXXIII] A brake limiting the movement of a helicopter pilot-training device is operated by an abutment 50 on the device which, in certain conditions, rotates a lever 51 clockwise to act through spring 53 on the piston 55 of a master cylinder 54 connected through pipe 58, rotary pipe joint 59, and pipe 60 to a cylinder 61, the piston 62 of which acts on a lever 28 having a brake pad 27, co-operating with a movable part of the device (not shown). A reservoir 57 is connected to cylinder 54 through pipe 56, and a valve 64 can be opened to by-pass cylinder 54 and render the brake inoperative. Lever 28 can also be operated by a lockable hand lever through a cable 32. |
