PURPOSE:To obtain an ultrasonic microscope which can highly reliably evaluate samples. CONSTITUTION:This ultrasonic microscope is provided with a transmitting wave generating section 2 which generates transmitting waves, transmitting- receiving sections 3-5 which make the transmitting waves incident to a sample after converting the waves into ultrasonic waves and, at the same time, output reflected wave signals after receiving reflected waves from the sample, gate section 12 which extracts reflected wave component from the reflected wave signals by means of a gate signal, and picture forming sections 30-32 which form an ultrasonic picture by using the extracted reflected wave component as picture data. In addition, the microscope is also provided with a comparing means 33 which outputs a saturation signal when the signal level of the reflected wave signals exceeds a threshold and a display control means 31 which displays the picture area formed of the extracted picture data from the gate section 12 and another picture area in a distinguishable state when the saturation signal is outputted. |
