<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a lightweight vibration-damping steel sheet having characteristics of multi-function, which is used for automobiles, construction materials and domestic electric appliances. CONSTITUTION:A vibration-damping steel strapping is formed in a manner that the surface of a steel strapping is coated with foamable resin of 50 to 700 micra, and the upper layer thereof is coated with thermosetting resin paint of not more than 100 micra. The coated steel strapping is pressed in an unfoamed state, and thereafter, foaming is done under heating in a paint baking step. Owing to the film of the upper layer, no gas is vented even in the case where the thickness of the foamed resin is thin, and gas evolved can be trapped in the resin, so that the foamed resin can be obtained at a high expansion ratio. Furthermore, the pseudo-restriction effect of upper layer resin-foamed resin-steel sheet is obtained, whereby favorable vibration-damping properties can be obtained irrespective of the coating on one face of the steel strapping.</p> |
