PURPOSE:To shorten the recording time without deteriorating the quality of recording by providing a second recording control means, by which a picture data block is removed from the object of recording operation, when the picture data block including no black picture-element information is discriminated. CONSTITUTION:A one-line recording-completion decision section 8 decides whether or not the application of recording voltage to a block corresponding to one line is completed briefly on the basis of the state of count of a picture data block-counter 7, a feed control section 9 feeds and drives a recording medium only by a specified pitch in the feed direction Y every time the completion is decided, and a motor drive circuit 10 step-drives a feed motor 11 under the control of the feed control section 9. A picture-data discriminating section 12 discriminates whether or not black picture-element information is contained in a picture data Pd transferred from a picture data RAM 4 at every block, and a second recording control section 13 removes a picture data block not contained from the object of recording operation when the picture data block not contained is discriminated. |
