A method and apparatus for reinforcing the buried end of a wooden utility pole (4). The method uses elongate curved elements (2) which are spaced about the periphery of the pole and driven into the ground so that their lower ends are buried. Bolts (52) which pass through the pole are used to firmly clamp the members (2) to the pole (4). |
