CONSTITUTION:A foreign matter such as charcoal or graphite is mixed into a boriding agent prior to boriding. In this method a part contacting with the boriding agent alone is provided with the highest hardness and a borided layer of the largest depth, and as the boriding agent mixing ratio is reduced, the hardness is lowered and the borided layer is shallowed. Accordingly, by boriding a part requiring wear resistance with the pure boriding agent and other part with such a mixed boriding agent proportionate to the necessary hardness or boriding depth, boriding fit for the purpose can be performed in only one boriding process. |
