<p>PURPOSE:To execute removal of tin from molten iron at high efficiency by specifying sulfur content in the molten iron at the time of executing decarbonization and detinization by charging weak oxidizing agent into the molten iron in a specific vacuum. CONSTITUTION:The sulfur content in the molten iron is regulated to >=0.07% at the time of executing the decarbonization and detinization by charging the weak oxidizing agent into the molten iron containing tin (about 0.5-4% C content) under vacuum condition of <=20Torr. Then, as the weak oxidizing agent, magnesium oxide, silicon dioxide or mixed material thereof is used, and this grain diameter is made to be <= about 0.5mm in the range of no scattering and this is blown on surface of the molten iron with oxygen gas, nitrogen gas, etc., or injected into the molten iron. By this method, the tin in the molten iron can be efficiently removed.</p> |
