A method serves for making paper carrier bags (2), having paper handles glued on the outside, in one continuous operation. First of all, paper carrier bags (2) without a handle are made in a bag machine (1). The paper handles are glued to the paper carrier bags (2) in a handle applicator unit (8). So that the paper bags having a handle glued on the outside can be made continuously and at a high cycle rate in one operation, the paper carrier bags (2) are delivered from the bag machine (1) to the handle applicator unit (8), with the bottom in front. After the paper handles have been glued on, the paper carrier bags are transported away, with the bottom in front. ……
