PURPOSE:To produce a low thermal expansion ceramic material having low thermal decomposability by adding additives to aluminum titanate. CONSTITUTION:One or more of the oxides of Bi, In, Sm, Nb, Pr, Nd, Zn, Rb, W and Sr as additives are added to aluminum titanate or SiO2 is further added to produce a low thermal expansion ceramic material. This ceramic material can considerably control the decomposability of aluminum titanate as compared with a conventional material obtd. by adding only SiO2 to aluminum titanate. |
