Separation of Ethane from Methane by Pressure Swing Adsorption

Ethane is separated from a methane- and ethane-containing feedstream using pressure-swing adsorption wherein the adsorbent is a faujasite type of zeo litic aluminosilicate containing (1) at least 20 equivalent % of a cation selected fro m zinc, a rare earth metal, hydrogen, ammonium or calcium, and (2) not more than 8 0 equivalent percent of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal cation other than calcium.
