NOISE DISCRIMINATING METHOD, NOISE ELIMINATING METHOD, AND PICTURE PROCESSOR USING THE METHODS

PURPOSE:To eliminate noise without blurring the edges of a picture by discrimi nating a noise of high density value in picture data. CONSTITUTION:A binarizing means 1 binarizes picture data 6. A picture processing means 3 subjects picture data 6 to general picture processing like masking. A noise discriminating means 2 uses a window divided to plural blocks to discriminate the noise included in binarized picture data 7 from the binarizing means 1. If the noise discriminating means 2 judges a noticed picture element to be noise, a noise eliminating means 4 analyzes picture data 9 outputted from the picture processing means 3 to eliminate the noise without blurring the edges of the picture.
