PURPOSE:To enhance stability and resolving power. CONSTITUTION:In a vibration type accelerometer wherein one end of a mass part is supported on a support in a cantilevered fashion and a vibrator right- angled to the mass part is mounted between the free end of the mass part and the support, square pillar shaped vibration elements 16, 17 are mutually connected at both ends thereof as a vibrator and four electrodes 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 31, 32 are formed to the vibration elements 16, 17 on the same plane along respective two ridgelines of said elements 16, 17 and the outside electrodes 23, 26 of one half part of the vibrator and the inside electrodes 28, 31 of the other half part thereof are mutually connected and other electrodes 24, 25, 27, 32 are mutually connected and an AC signal is applied across said electrodes 24, 25, 27, 32 to generate twist vibrations mutually reverse in phase in the vibration elements 16, 17. |
