<p>PURPOSE:To effectively reform exhaust gas from a smelting reduction furnace to get reducing gas having sufficient reduction capability for preliminary reduction. CONSTITUTION:When the temp. of exhaust gas is in the range of 1000 to 1500 deg.C, pulverized coal with which materials, such as oxide, hydroxide and chloride of sodium, potassium, calcium, ervalent iron, etc., having cataltic effect to convert CO2, H2O, etc., to reducing gas CO, H2, etc., are mixed is put into a smelting reduction furnace. This gas reforming method is characterized by sufficiently reforming exhaust gas to get reducing gas even in the range of comparatively low temperatures. And installation cost can be reduced because coal of low volatile component can be used and reforming in the range of lower temperatures can be performed.</p> |
