The portable sander is made up of a pneumatic motor (5), the rotating outer part of which forms the spindle of a sanding drum (6) including sanding elements, the fixed part of the pneumatic motor being fixed to a handle (3), and it includes a valve (13) for adjusting the flow rate of air to the motor (5), as well as a protective screen (1) fixed on the handle (3) and extending around the inactive part of the sanding drum (6). On the handle (3) is provided a suction pipe (15) extending between the inside of the protective screen (1) and a hose under vacuum (19) connected to the handle (3).
