Process for concentrating aqueous solutions of acids by electrodialysis, according to which an electrodialysis stack is employed, consisting of a series of anion and cation exchange membranes, the anion exchange membranes alternating with the cation exchange membranes and defining compartments in which the fluid to be treated circulates, current input electrodes being placed in the end compartments, the set of the compartments being subjected to an electrical field perpendicular to the plane of the membranes and to the direction of circulation of the fluid, so that an alternation of dilution compartments (2) and of concentration compartments (1) is formed, in which process the aqueous solution of acid to be treated contains metal ions, characterised in that the solution to be treated is additionally made to circulate on the cathode and that an acidic solution freed from its metal ions is recovered and that, if appropriate, the metal deposited is recovered at the end of the electrodialysis. <IMAGE>
