PURPOSE:To easily and quickly prepare the unified manual of a program product by making almost all work to be automatically performed at the time of preparing the manual. CONSTITUTION:A manual constitution input accepting section 31 inputs the item numbers and headings of a manual to be prepared and keywords indicating the described items under each heading. A required information retrieving section 33 selects the information required for constituting the manual by retrieving a data base 4 by using the keywords. A standard layout retrieving section 34 selects layout suitable for the constitution of the manual at every heading by retrieving another data base 5 by using the same keywords. A primary draft preparing section 32 prepares the primary draft of the manual by arranging the information required for constituting the manual in accordance with standard layout. Then a draft correcting section 34 enables the writer of the manual to correct the primary draft by displaying the primary draft edited in accordance with the standard layout and the information which cannot be included in the standard layout on a screen. |
