<p>PURPOSE:To properly purify exhaust gas by heating simultaneously a catalyst and an oxygen sensor, and giving a full play of ability of them immediately after starting an engine. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust pipe 2 is provided with a heater unit 12 composed of a heater 11 in which an oxygen sensor 10 is assembled from the upstream of the pipe 2, and a main monorice catalyst 13. The heater unit is prepared by forming a hole on an outer peripheral part of a honeycomb heater made of a honeycomb structural body, and arranging the oxygen sensor having no heater such that its detection part is located in the hole.</p> |
