PURPOSE:To obtain a liver cell proliferation promoter capable of remarkably promoting proliferation of parenchyma cell of liver fractionated from homogenate of intestine mucous membrane of warm-blooded animal. CONSTITUTION:A salt solution of such as physiological saline or phosphoric acid-buffered physiological saline is added to intestine mucous membrane of warm-blooded animal and the mixture is homogenized to finely crush structure thereof and uniformly mixed to prepare a homogenate. The above-mentioned homogenate is centrifuged (normally in 8000-12000G for several minute) and supernatant thereof is subjected to heat treatment e.g. at 90-100 deg.C for 3-40min and the denatured high polymer protein is removed as a precipitate and supernatant thereof is subjected to gel filtration chromatography by Sephadex G-25 (manufactured by Pharmacia) to provide a liver cell proliferation promoter having molecular weight being in the range of 100-5500 by gel filtration chromatography by Sephadex G-25, stable to heating, not deactivating on heating at 100 deg.C for 35min and capable of promoting activity, synergistically to insulin and additionally to epithelial cell. |
