An automatic bobbin-winding and -changing machine for lockstitch machines comprises a shaft (5) which is driven in rotation by an electric motor and displaced axially toward a magazine (1) by a pneumatic mechanism. The shaft (5) takes the bobbin (2) from the magazine (1) and brings it into the winding position. A device (15) arranged transversally to the shaft (5) has means for threading the thread onto the bobbin (2) and for removing bobbin waste by suction. A cutting device (20) and a clamping device (21) are arranged transversally to the device (15). Winding takes place as the bobbin (2) is being automatically changed. The full bobbin (2) is deposited in a removable magazine (22). The means for retaining the start of the thread on the bobbin (2) may consist of two holes (14) in the core of the bobbin (2) or a winding applied by a winding device (54). The bobbin is changed by a changing head (27) with pneumatically driven gripping levers (30, 31). The changing head can pivot or oscillate about various axes and can move laterally outward on a carriage. |
