Breaking ring consisting of at least three segments (14,14') which are pivotted about a bore hole (13). Which in turn is fixed to either the wheel hub (11) or the drive shaft of the rail vehicle. Heavy-duty springs (20) connected to the ends of the segments (19) and the hub (11) create the breaking force, induced by shifting the three segments about their pivots creating gaps (17) between each one. USE/ADVANTAGE - For rail bourne vehicles. Compensation for centrifugal force is achieved.
