The engine can be two- or four-stroke. It has two discs (1,2) on a common shaft with a central bearing and working in separate housings. Each disc incorporates one or more pistons (11), and intermediate spaces of the same size as the pistons. These are connected by one or more combustion chambers, in each of which a slide works in the axial direction. The axial distance between the running faces of the discs are kept constant, while the joints between the pistons and spaces are symmetrical. USE/ADVANTAGE - Low noise level, being for use in lawnmowers, chainsaws etc.
