The medical appts. has a first syringe holder on a housing and a second holder on a slide which can be moved relative to the housing, the force acting on the two holders actuating a pressure sensor. The sensor is fitted to one of the holders which supports a probe which retracts on exceeding a preset syringe force and trips a switch.
