A heat-shrinkable wrapping has a shrinkable component arranged in a non-shrinkable component. The shrinkable member is a crosslinked polymer, made into a net and stretched; this is embedded in the non-shrinkable material and bonded to it at the intersecting points of the netting. The heat-shrinkable netting can have polyether-ester leastomer as a non-crosslinking main constituent; it can have a radiation-crosslinking ethylene-vinyl acetate content; the structure can have fibre reinforcements, e.g., polyethylene-terephthalate, polybutylene-terephthalate, polyamide 6 or poly-4-methylpentene 1; the heat-shrinking material can contain rubber.
