Bobbin sleeve

The bobbin sleeve (1), to take wound textile material andesp. a roving or slubbing, has a catch plate (3) below the zonewhere the material is to be wound. Pref. the catch plate (3) hasa plate base (4) and edge (5) which is stepped or rounded. Theedge (5) of the plate can have a profiled or roughened edge roundit. The catch plate can be fitted with notches and a stopper. Thedia. (d) of the catch plate (3) is somewhat larger than the dia.of the base of the bobbin sleeve, but smaller than the dia. of afully wound bobbin (S). The catch plate has a clamp to secure itto the bobbin sleeve (10, in a release fitting, so that the platecan be secured round the sleeve. The catch plate can also havepins which engage in recesses in the bobbin sleeve foot whenfitted for use.
