<p>PURPOSE: To provide an interior decorative panel for an automobile for covering an air gab installed in a dashboard. CONSTITUTION: A decorative panel 16 for covering an air bag 26 installed in a dashboard of an automobile comprises a thermoplastic inner supporting layer 30 having the segments 46, 48 abutting to each other along a predetermined H-shaped tear seam line 50 for making the air bag outwardly develop from the panel, and a smooth outer surface. A vinyl thermoplastic outer skin layer having a weakened section 60 formed on the inner surface along the seam line, and an elastic olefin foam- or polyurethane foam-made intermediate foam layer 32 having the segments abutting to each other along the seam line are formed, the outer skin layer is fractured along the seam line when the air bag is inflated, whereby a door is pivotally opened on the hinge lines 52, 54, and the air bag is outwardly developed from the panel.</p> |
