The heat exchanger (3) mounted on the top of the machine (1) is associated on its prim. side (3a) with a circulation (5) of air induced through the casing by a machine ventilator (4), and on its sec. side (3b) with a cooling air flow (14) generated by the cooling fan (8). The fan is fitted in the vicinity of the stator (6) and rotor (7) of the machine (1) on the side of the heat exchanger (3) which is turned away from them. Cooling air is drawn (10) from both faces of the heat exchanger (3) over its sec. side (3b). The lateral position of exit grilles (13) w.r.t. the machine axis (11) corresponds to half of its breadth.
