The vehicle gear stick head is made from at least two laminated layers which are curved by pressing over a forming block, to form a shaped body which is divided into two half shells (30,40). The shells are bonded together via the edges adjacent the edges obtained by separating the half shells (30,40) to obtain an outer sheathing (50), which is sprayed on the inside with a plastics material (60). The upper lamination layer is applied in line with the subsequent separation line used to obtain the two half shells (30,40). ADVANTAGE - Simple, low-cost mfr. providing gearstick head which does not splinter in an accident.
