PURPOSE:To improve conveting speed at the time of converting a character to be converted in a character string into another character or the character string. CONSTITUTION:Conversion classification (non-conversion, one-to-one conversion, one-to-n conversion) for every character included in the character string before conversion is registered in code maps 12-1, 12-2. Editing tables 13-1, 13-2 are tables for one-to-one conversion and one-to-n conversion respectively, and the character before conversion and the character post-conversion are registered in the editing table 13-1 and the character string to be converted and the character string post-conversion are registered in the editing table 13-2 by allowing them to correspond to each other. A retrieving means 15 retrieves the code maps 12-1, 12-2, and determines the conversion classification of the objective character to be processed. A converting means 16 retrieves the edting table corresponding to the conversion classification determined by the retrieving means 15 between the editing tables 13-1, 13-2, and outputs the character post- conversion or the character string postconversion. |
