Surgical retractor with annular frame - which has round cross=section and fastening clamps, each with mating semi-circular recess

The retractor annular frame has sliding clamps which move arrestably at right angles to the frame and hold the two retraction arms and blades. A spring-loaded arrester bracket engages notches provided at regular intervals in the two arms. The frame has a circular cross section (2) to take the clamps (3), which are each semicircularly recessed and contracted by a screw. Thus a hole (27) through the clamp (3) at right angles to the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the two recesses is engaged by a rotation symmetrical retraction arm (4) with circular notches (28). USE/ADVANTAGE - For surgical applications, without need for connections to an operating table, but with improved flexibility.
