PURPOSE:To improve a printing dot reproducibility by a method wherein in a thermosensitive recording material in which an undercoat layer mainly composed of a pigment and a binder is provided on a substrate, and a thermosensitive color-forming layer is provided thereon, a succinic acid derivative or the like shown by a specific general formula is incorporated in the undercoat layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermosensitive recording material containing an electron donative dye precursor and an electron accepting compound, an undercoat layer mainly composed of a pigment and a binder is provided on a substrate, and a thermosensitive color-forming layer is provided thereon. In the undercoat layer, at least one compound selected out of a succinic acid derivative shown by a right general formula, a salt thereof, and an acid anhydride thereof is incorporated. In the formula, R represents hydrogen atom, 8-15 C alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, or arylalkyl. The use of the succinic acid derivative, a salt thereof, or an acid anhydride thereof is determined to be 0.2-20wt.%, pref. 0.5-5wt.%, of the amount of the pigment contained in the undercoat layer. |
