Tamping and fixing tufts of brush-bristles - using machine with tamper, with conveyor, with feed drive mechanism, stepping motor, feed wheel and pressure wheel

The machine (1) for tamping and fixing tufts (2) of bristles into holes in a brush incorporates a temper (4) to which a conveyor (5) brings the extruded material (6). The conveyor has a feed-drive mechanism (12) with an electronically controlled positioning, stepping motor (13) for the stepwise conveyance of variable lengths of the extruded material. The feed-drive mechanism has a feed wheel (15) and at least one pressure wheel. The positioning motor is connected to the feed wheel by means of a gear (14). The extruded material is wound onto a storage spool (7) connected to a wind-off drive mechanism (17). A tightener (8), between the storage spool and the feeder, has a looped guide for the extruded material, with a tension-meter. USE/ADVANTAGE - The conveyor can be used for loops of round wire and for the anchor-plates, with its feed adapted to long or short lengths.
