PURPOSE:To suppress the deterioration in the detection accuracy due to dirt overlapped on a mark printed out onto a job control sheet. CONSTITUTION:The picture processing unit in which input picture information is distinguished depending on the presence of specific marks 101a-101d or a pattern printed out on a job control sheet 100 and output picture information is obtained by applying different picture processing to the information depending on the presence, and the specific mark or pattern of the picture is made up of a line drawing with an angle and with less correlation in the horizontal and vertical directions. When a dirt takes place linearly in the vertical or the horizontal direction in the specific mark or pattern, error information due to dirt at a different position in the code information is included in plural sets of sampling information in parallel with the main scanning direction. The error information is eliminated by the arithmetic processing and optimum code information is decoded. |
