摘要 The process is characterised by the fact that alloying materials are adding in the form of discrete portions. The installation for carrying out the method includes a vacuum lock consisting of a collecting hopper and a container with an outlet pipe allowing it to be isolated from the hopper and the pipe. Alternatively, the installation is characterised by a vacuum container for reception of alloying materials. This container can be isolated from the vacuum chamber. The devices for isolating the container are bell closures with sealing elements capable of being raised and lowered. Such bell closures are connected with the piston rods of actuating pneumatic cylinders. At least the lower bell closure and its cylinder rod are lined outside with wear resistant materials. Similarly, the vacuum container for reception of alloying materials (metioned under the alternative characterisation of the installation) is provided with a wear resistant liner. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in the metallurgical industry. It allows present complicated installations to be replaced by simpler, less costly equipment requiring less space. The operation of the plant, in comparison with the existing procedures, is also simplified.
