PURPOSE:To perform image processing capable of clearly observing the fine pattern of a mucosa surface. CONSTITUTION:In an image processing device 104, color difference signals R, G, and B from memory (1)-(3) 36a-36c are inputted, and an image G out of original images R, G, and B is divided into blocks of 64X64, and an unappropriate block is eliminated. A feature area of 256X256 including the block provided with the mean density of residual blocks in a center part is extracted, and furthermore, three axes based on the statistical distribution of a density value are decided by using KL conversion after prescribed processing is applied, and the data (r), (g), and (b) of each picture element are coordinate-transformed to data (x), (y), and (z). Two-dimensional discrete Fourier transformation is applied to each data after coordinate transformation, and filtering processing with an emphasizing effect is applied to an image X including a large amount of feature component, and filtering processing with a noise suppressing effect to an image Y and an image Z. Reverse coordinate transformation is applied to the data on which the filtering processing is performed, and the image satisfactory for the observation of the fine pattern can be obtained. |
